This absolute measuring system is (as the incremental ELGO measuring systems) completely abrasion resistant and offers a considerable advantage: no more calibration runs are any longer necessary as the system always recognizes the actual position, even in a power-down condition.

EMAX can process distances up to 10 m and is therefore provided with a magnetic tape up to 10 m (as roll wear). The resolution/repeating accuracy is ±0.01 mm. The sensor can be installed with a distance of up to 1.5 mm to the tape. The signal transmission is possible with different interfaces (SSI, RS422 or CAN-BUS), that ensures universal fields of application with the EMAX.

The position indicator Z58 complements the EMAX. ELGO Electric can now offer a complete solution for recording and indicating absolute measured values.
